Job Description
Manage change and oversee strategic projects and iniatives relating to the MFS Luxembourg funds, anticipating changes to the regulatory or market environment and ensuring the business responds to those in order to be aligned with our clients and the broader marketplace. Monitor ongoing distribution, product and regulatory programmes to ensure the continuing smooth operations of the MFS Luxembourg funds within a compliant, efficient and client-friendly manner. Provide insight and information to other areas of Global Distribution and MFS more broadly to help develop the support and infrastructure required to support the clients of the MFS Lux funds.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Distribution Initiatives:
Work with the MFS Global Marketing team to create and maintain the operational forms required for clients to transact in the MFS Lux funds, such as account opening forms, subscription forms, etc. Ensure all forms are in line with market norms, client needs and relevant regulatory requirements and update on an ongoing basis as needed. Work with Global Marketing to ensure marketing collateral contains client-, regional- and language-appropriate product information, including share class information, portfolio characteristics and performance and relevant disclosures. Initiate updates to marketing collateral when product changes occur. Monitor ongoing trends within the distribution landscape and report on shifts or changes to MFS management and to other supporting teams Support the conducting persons with respect to distribution. Monitar MFS Lux distribution activities (marketing incidents, marketing countries, compliance by the delegates with the provisions of MiFID II, analysis of complaints records, monitoring the collection of subscriptions and redemptions etc.).
Product Initiatives:
Work with the Sales and Relationship Management teams to determine the needs of clients in regard to new products and share classes, such as which share classes to offer and where products are to be registered, and communicate that information to the Global Product, Legal, Fund Treasury and Operations teams within the new product or new share class approval process. Manage the regulatory and tax requirements relating to new product set up such as identifying the target market of the Product, the categorization under the German Investment Tax Act, the tax reporting or categorization requirements for various jurisdictions where the products are available for sale. Work with the data and IT teams to dcreate EMT, EPT and other data files required for all new Products Maintain and update the static data files for the MFS Lux funds, including identifiers, fees, operational data, wire details, etc for all products. Customise versions of the static data files for specific clients or data vendors. Work closely with Fundinfo to ensure the information maintained on their database is accurate and up to date. Monitor the register of investors in institutional and other restricted share classes and soft closed funds to ensure all investors meet the relevant eligibility requirements. Approve exceptions to requirements where appropriate. Report to the MFS Lux Board annually on the population of all restricted share classes.
Regulatory Initiatives
Monitor and assess regulatory changes affecting the MFS Lux funds and clients to anticipate the affect on MFS and our clients. Participate in industry working groups. Work with other internal MFS departments to address such changes in a timely and effective manner. Oversee the MiFID II and PRIIPs Target Market process for all MFS Lux funds, communicating such target market and monitoring reports relating to same from distributors as required. Manage regulatory and tax reporting for various jurisdisctions, working with data, IT teams and the MFS Lux funds TA and administrator to provide accurante and timely information (e.g. Italian White List reporting, UK Reporting Funds publication, Spanish Traspasable Funds filing, etc.) Manage the exchange of structured information between MFS Lux and intermediaries, particularly with respect to target market Oversee the arrangements for the remuneration of marketing intermediaries including, where appropriate, benefits in accordance with MiFID II Regulation.
Participate in or manager other projects and iniatives as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant industry experience. Operations experience desirable. Solid understanding of mutual funds and their operations and of MFS's target markets, distributors and clients and the general infrastructure of the funds industry Strong attention to details and analytical skills and an ability to identify solutions and formulate and present recommendations to MFS management Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational and decision making and influencing skills Fluency in English is required. Other European language(s) a plus. Impeccable character with high ethical and quality standards Hard working and driven to succees with the ability to be hands on, self-motivated and adaptable.
