Banking Officer (ENG)

Job description

• Analyse the business profile of banks to identify factors affecting their future profitability, solvency and valuation;
• Identify factors affecting banking sectors in specific countries and in the euro area, and support related simulation analyses and stress testing;
• Provide technical and analytical assistance in the design and implementation of banking sector policies in programme countries;
• Analyse the recent regulatory and policy developments and advise on their impact on the banking sector and single banks;
• Support the country teams in performing post-programme surveillance;
• Conduct research on bank restructuring and resolution, non-performing loan (NPL) management and corporate recovery;
• Understand and analyse top-down and bottom-up banking stress tests;
• Support the preparation of banking sector policy notes for ESM governing bodies’ meetings;
• Contribute to the implementation of the framework related to the common backstop of the Single Resolution Fund.

Profile

• Advanced University degree, preferably with specialization in finance and/or a banking;
• 5 years of relevant experience inbanking and finance or financial market analysis;
• Broad knowledge of bank analysis, the banking industry and its trends;
• Good understanding of banking regulation and EU institutional architecture;
• Experience within international financial institutions, other international organisations or in private sector would be considered an asset;
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment;
• Proactive attitude and intellectually curiosity.
