Summary of the position
The Assistant Portfolio Management – Luxembourg will work for MS Management Services S.A. (“MSMS”), an authorized AIFM in Luxembourg, performing a key role in the portfolio management function. The Assistant Portfolio Management will work closely with the Head of Operations together with the other Maitland Group Officers and may also be required to assist the Conducting Officers.
Outline of main duties and responsibilities
Portfolio Management Responsibilities:
- Work on research, underwriting and due diligence to evaluate investment opportunities;
- Provide advice and guidance for investment opportunities to investment team (Real Estate, Private Equity, receivables, etc..);
- Work together with investment teams to evaluate investment opportunities;
- Provide fund/market updates to Portfolio Managers - monitor fund exposures, cash/FX, positions, wider market movements and generate portfolio risk reports as required;
- Prepare materials, take minutes for all Committees (acting as secretary) and schedule other small meetings as needed;
- Review/evaluate reports on investment performance and activity;
- Help to monitor the activities of our delegates (including delegated Investment Managers/Investment Advisors) in line with the CSSF guidelines;
- Partner with the delegates, legal, risk, compliance and operations to ensure that the management company complies with regulatory requirements, due diligence policies and internal rules and procedures;
- Work alongside internal external administrators to generate ad-hoc investment reports;
- Assist in fundamental research across, with a view to producing, defending and maintaining a comprehensive investment case;
- Support Portfolio Managers in the preparation of client/internal investment reports and presentations.
Skills and experience required
Experience
- 2-years relevant experience in a similar position.
- Proven experience in investment and financial assets management as an analyst or assistant manager in a financial institution environment
- Strong understanding of investment strategies and risk management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High interest in and enthusiastic about economic and financial market trend.
Education
- Master’s degree in business, finance, investment or a related field preferred.

Reporting structure
TheAssistant Portfolio Management –Luxembourg has a direct reporting line to the Head of Operations.
Remuneration level
Remuneration will be market related and commensurate with experience and seniority. In addition, the successful candidate will receive a competitive benefits package. and be eligible to participate in the firm-wide discretionary bonus scheme.
